It was founded in 2004 by Stephan Knappstein DVM and started out as a mobile veterinary equine practice. Since then it has grown and incorporates two other divisions. Valparaiso Value Veterinarian is the small animal division of Emerald Coast Equine LLC and was born in the midst of the 2008 recession. It is a small animal practice offering primarily preventive medicine services to dogs and cats at prices almost everybody can afford.
In keeping with the popularity and general interest of alternative medicine options , Dr. Stephan undertook additional training in animal chiropractic techniques in 2011, becoming certified by the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association in September of that same year. Animal chiropractic care is an alternative, drugless method of healthcare that delivers therapeutic effects through manual and mechanical adjustments of spinal vertebral segments that are beneficial to the nervous system and therefore to the whole animal. And so the third division of Emerald Coast came into being.
